Are you pregnant or the parent of an infant and looking for resources? Since 2002, Answers Counseling has helped thousands of families like yours experience healthy pregnancy and birth resulting in healthy first steps for your babies.
Our registered nurses, registered dieticians, behavioral health specialists, and community health workers can help you access:
- Nutritionist advice, medical services, and mental health counseling/ substance use treatment
- Women Infant & Children (WIC) nutritious food benefits, for pregnant individuals and children up to 5 years old
- Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML), for those who worked at least 820 hours last year and need to take paid leave for pregnancy, have a serious medical condition, or care for family members with serious health issues.
- SNAP/ Basic Food, Child Care Subsidy, TANF and other DSHS’s Washington Connections benefits.
- SNAP/ Basic Food, Child Care Subsidy, TANF and other DSHS Washington Connections benefits.
- Apple Health/ Medicaid Pregnancy and Apple Health for Kids
- Culturally Responsive Integrated & Strength-Based Parenting (CRISP) classes every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Participants receive a $20 gift card each month for participating in a GoToMeeting session and filling out a brief survey
For those with Medicaid/ Apple Health, Answers Counseling provides free, strength-based Maternity Support Services (MSS) and Infant Case Management services in Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, Grays, Mason, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties, through a long-term contract with the Health Care Authority.

Family Connects Program: We are also funded by First5Fundamentals to provide free Family Connects navigation (similar to Maternity Support Services and Infant Case Management) for parents of newborns who live in Pierce County and delivered their baby at MultiCare’s Tacoma General Hospital. This is an exciting pilot that is designed to help families whose income is above the Medicaid/ Apple Health level or who are uninsured.
